Carers Trust Hillingdon

is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced youth worker to join their supportive,
high-performing and friendly Young Carers team as a

Supported Transition Lead Officer (Maternity Cover)

12 month fixed-term contract with possible extension subject to funding

£28,405 per annum pro rata
28-36 hours per week depending on preference

The global pandemic has had a significant impact on unpaid carers of all ages and, in particular, on our young adult carers (16-25 years). Job markets have become more challenging, social issues are becoming more prevalent and we are witnessing an exponential rise in low-level mental health issues. Our young adult carer provision aims to address these challenges.

Our well-established Supported Transition programme offers intensive individual support and training to help young carers make a smoother transition into adulthood and to prevent them from becoming NEET. The service currently supports their personal development and provides a range of training and other opportunities to aid access to volunteering, further education and employment opportunities, as well as a diverse social activity programme, peer and emotional support.

Due to the maternity leave of the current post-holder, we are looking to appoint a Supported Transition Lead Officer from January 2023. The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and further development of the project.  If you are an ‘ideas’ person, are innovative and self-motivated, have extensive experience of project management and a proven track-record in youth or family work we would love to hear from you!
