Why are we fundraising?
Many of the carers that we support were already struggling with financial, emotional and social issues prior to the Covid-19 outbreak. These issues have been exacerbated by Covid-19 and lockdown measures; we have seen job losses, increased debt, relationship breakdown, worsening mental and physical health and an increase in domestic violence.
In the last financial year (April 2020-March 2021) Carers Trust Hillingdon supported 8,276 adult and 1,066 young/young adult carers, managed to secure over £1 million in carer-related benefits and provided 4,623 breaks from caring for carers of all ages.
We also secured additional grant funding to provide laptops to 80 digitally excluded young carers to enable them to continue with home schooling and connect with their peers throughout the pandemic.
We need your help to continue to respond to carer’s new and emerging needs. Your donation will help us to support carers in crisis and meet emergency needs for items such as food, utilities, clothing and electrical white goods.
Thank you for your generosity.
